Early Education Momma
Hi, I’m Dasha—a mom to a curious little boy and an enthusiast of all things early education. Our journey into this world started when our son was 8 months old, but if we’re being honest, my personal fascination with child development began long before that, with the legendary Maria Montessori. You know her—the queen of practical life skills and tiny furniture. Her name pops up everywhere, but back then, I realized that not many people seemed to be diving into her actual writings. So, I started an Instagram page sharing bite-sized abstracts of her books (thank you, public domain!) to figure it all out myself.
Then, at the magical age of 5 months (for my son, not me), someone mentioned Glenn Doman. I thought, “Why not? I’ve already got a stack of Montessori books; let’s add more to the pile.” During nap times, I devoured his books, highlighter in hand, and started making the cards. If you know, you know. Large, bold word cards everywhere—on the table, in the diaper bag, probably under the couch. It was a labor of love (and occasional frustration).
At first, I wondered if anything was clicking. The boy seemed amused, his dad was…let’s call it “politely skeptical,” but something told me to keep going. By 15 months, he shocked us all by reading the word “DADA” in a brand-new book. Let me tell you, Papa’s jaw hit the floor. Cue the family celebration—and my growing confidence in this method.
From there, we expanded our horizons. As I shared snippets of our progress on My Early Education Momma Instagram page, I discovered other fascinating methods like Shichida and Heguru. Turns out, early education is a whole world of creative, brain-boosting fun. My Instagram page became a space to connect with like-minded parents, trade tips, and celebrate every little milestone together.
Now, this website is my attempt to organize everything I’ve learned, make it accessible, and create a space where parents like you can feel inspired, encouraged, and maybe even a little less overwhelmed.
Thanks for stopping by! Grab a cup of coffee (or reheat the one you made this morning), and explore. I’m so glad you’re here.
